Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Melt Candle Company LLC, doing business as FORNEL ("FORNEL", "we", "us"), collects, uses and shares personal information when you visit myfornel.com or buy from us. We don't sell your information for money. Like most online stores, we use advertising and analytics partners, which some US state laws treat as "selling" or "sharing" personal information — you can opt out at any time (see Your choices).

How we use information
- To process and deliver your order, provide customer support, handle returns and warranty claims.
- To communicate with you about your order.
- To understand how our site is used and improve it (analytics).
- To measure and improve our advertising, including telling ad platforms which ads led to a purchase.
- To prevent fraud, and to comply with legal obligations.
Who we share it with
- Stripe — payment processing and checkout. Stripe processes your payment and contact details under its own privacy policy.
- Google (Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads) — site analytics and ad measurement, using cookies and identifiers on our site.
- Meta (Meta Pixel and the Meta Conversions API) — ad measurement and optimization for Facebook and Instagram ads.
- Shipping carriers and fulfillment partners — to deliver your order.
- Service providers that host our website and email, under contract.
- Authorities, when required by law, or to protect our rights.
Purchase data shared with ad platforms
When you buy from us, we may send Google and Meta information about the purchase so we can measure which ads work: the order value and items, the ad click or browser identifiers stored when you arrived (such as gclid, _fbp/_fbc and the Google Analytics client ID), and your email address and phone number in hashed (one-way encrypted) form. This happens from our server as well as from your browser. If you've opted out or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we don't send ad identifiers or hashed contact details to ad platforms.
Cookies
We use first-party cookies (for example, to remember your privacy choices and the ad or campaign that brought you here, for up to 90 days) and third-party cookies from Google and Meta. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Your choices
- Opt out of "sale" or "sharing" / targeted advertising: use Your Privacy Choices. When you opt out, we don't load the Meta Pixel, we tell Google not to use your data for advertising, and we don't send your ad identifiers to ad platforms. Analytics that don't identify you may continue.
- Global Privacy Control (GPC): we treat a GPC signal from your browser as a valid opt-out request for that browser.
- Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before we use analytics or advertising cookies, and can change their choice on the Privacy Choices page.
- Ad settings: you can also manage ads in your Google and Meta account settings.
- Emails: order emails are transactional. If we send marketing emails, each one will include an unsubscribe link.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Washington and other states), you may have the right to know what personal information we have about you, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale, sharing or use for targeted advertising. We won't discriminate against you for using these rights. To make a request, email info@myfornel.com with the subject "Privacy request". We may need to verify your identity, and you can use an authorized agent. If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision.
Data retention
We keep order records as long as needed for our business and legal obligations (such as tax and warranty), and analytics data according to the retention settings of the tools we use.
Children
Our site is intended for adults shopping for their families. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Security
We use HTTPS across the site and Stripe's PCI-compliant checkout. No method of transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
Changes
We may update this policy. We'll post the new version here with its effective date.
